A System based on computer vision

PERCISIO uses depth camera technology to scan its environment and automatically recognize spatial volumes. When a detected volume matches the expected reference, PERCISIO displays the hologram on screen.

In our example, PERCISIO displays a hologram of the KYOTO KAGAKU phantom used for testing purposes.

After the match, PERCISIO continuously monitors the volume to ensure the patient remains still during the procedure. Practitioner can then perform the operation in complete peace.

The practitioner can access different views depending on the context.

On the left, the hologram is shown without the skin, revealing the liver and the yellow sphere representing the abscess.

On the right, the hologram includes the skin, with the entry zone highlighted in light green—indicating where the practitioner must perform the percutaneous procedure.

A smart tracking system for any medical device

PERCISIO comes with a comprehensive set of attachment modules, each equipped with an electronic system designed to provide real-time spatial tracking.

The following illustration shows the needle module used for percutaneous procedures.

Tests performed on the 3D abdominal phantom demonstrate that the tracking system ensures millimetric precision, which can be enhanced with any type of ultrasound probe.

Every attachment module is light enough to not disturb the practitioner during the operation.

Attachments can fit a wide range of medical instruments, such as:

  • Needles & Catheters
    • Biopsy needles
    • Percutaneous intervention needles
    • Epidural needles
    • Central venous catheters
  • Ultrasound Probes
    • Linear probe
    • Convex probe
  • Surgical Instruments
    • Laparoscopic tools
    • Electrosurgical probes
  • Endoscopic & Minimally Invasive Instruments
  • Radiation & Laser Therapy Devices

The setup

The Percisio setup is lighter than any comparable product and can be easily transported in a small bag from one room to another or even outside the hospital.

This new standard redefines medical procedures for various applications and helps reduce congestion in critical services.
